A Rainy Monday to Kill the Buzz

What a weekend.
Friday after work I got to spend time with my lovely family and catch up with a dear, dear friend (shout out ASHLEY). Then I went home and hung with the hubster til Sue came! Yay! We weeded out vynal for all the race shirts while watching Gilmore Girls, then my AMAZING sister spent ALL day Saturday (with a little, but not enough help from me) working in a cold garage to make my marathon shirts/spectator/participant shirts. And they came out amazing. Please compare Sue's shirts to the ACTUAL Ocean Drive Marathon logo, that is very scary.

She should send pictures to the ODM people and get a job designing their shirts/medals.. because no one is gonna be proud of the finisher medal.. that has to horrendous seagulls with scary people legs on them.

Anyway, the race went well! We reached our goal! We wanted to do it in less than 5 hours and we finished in 4 hours and 55 minutes, whoo hoo! More than an HOUR less than my last marathon! Then last night Fawn and I relaxed in her hot tub with Bud Light Golden Wheats in hand, and jets on our backs.. NIIIIICE. Today, I am a lil stiff, but feeling well!! Yay!

But I think I want to take on a race that lets me ride a bike.. or is there one that involves a couch.. a remote.. and maybe some nachos?

I can't wait to see your pictures Sue!

INNOCENCE IS PRICELESS

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alexis standing in the foyer of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names and small American flags mounted on either side of it. The six-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little girl, and said quietly, 'Good morning Alexis.'
'Good morning Pastor,' she replied, still focused on the plaque. 'Pastor, what is this? '
The pastor said, 'Well, it's a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service.'
Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally, little Alexis's voice, barely audible and trembling with fear asked,'Which service, the 8:30 or the 10:30?'
